The owner of eight office buildings in Cranford and Clark has completed a flurry of leasing activity at the properties, including new commitments totaling 50,000 square feet.

The landlord, Signature Acquisitions, said the deals include a 15,000-square-foot transaction with Remarkable Foods, a food technology company, at 11 Commerce Drive in Cranford. Other newly announced tenants within the eight-building, 820,000-square-foot portfolio include FlexiVan and Kowabunga.

Cushman & Wakefield’s William O’Keefe, Charles Parmelli, Shawn Straka and Joe Ratner represented ownership.

“Our heightened focus on tenant-centric asset management, together with our new property management team and experienced leasing brokers has enabled us to attract the growing tenant demand that we have seen in the market recently,” said Sandy Monaghan, senior vice president and director of leasing at Signature Acquisitions.

The firm on Tuesday also highlighted more than 40,000 square feet in renewal activity from tenants spanning the medical, pharmaceutical, technology, construction, logistics, employment, accounting and insurance sectors. They include deals by CaroTrans and Jacobs Engineering, which occupy 10,849 and 10,159 square feet, respectively, at 100 Walnut Ave. in Clark.

Known as Parkway Commerce Center, the portfolio is made up of buildings located immediately off Exit 136 of the Garden State Parkway. The campus is also minutes from downtown Cranford and the Clark Commons Mall and provides quick access to Newark Liberty International Airport, Port Newark-Elizabeth, several NJ Transit bus stops and a host of nearby amenities.

“The recent hiring of Sandy Monaghan has helped bring our team together as evidenced by our recent leasing success and I’m excited about our future leasing prospects,” said Abe Brach, CEO of Signature Acquisitions. “I remain bullish about the viability of our Parkway Commerce Center, given its convenient location, to support companies with employees that desire shorter commutes, as well as to serve as a satellite location for companies based in Manhattan.”

The landlord has sought to capitalize on the buildings’ location with enhancements such as a redesigned campus café at 20 Commerce Drive, which features a 24/7 grab-and-go mini- mart, TVs and a billiards table. In addition, Signature Acquisitions is in the process of renovating and expanding the café and adding outdoor tenant space at its six-story, 193,000- square-foot 100 Walnut Ave. office building.

“Parkway Commerce Center is a highly desirable office campus that offers tenants an amenity-rich work/life environment, which is a crucial component for the recruitment and retention of valued employees,” O’Keefe said. “We are excited to continue working with Signature Acquisitions to bring increased visibility to the campus and attract a diverse roster of tenants.”
